Whiskey City Festival Scheduled for This Week

The City of Lawrenceburg – traditionally known as “Whiskey City” – will host the fourth-annual Whiskey City Festival this week at the Lawrenceburg Event Center.  Planned for Saturday, November 4, the event will showcase the city’s ties to the distilling industry and offer a full evening of whiskey-related activities, including special tastings by select distillers, master distillers, craft brewers and local wineries, plus educational displays, live music by DV8, food and more.

This year’s Whiskey City Festival offers two levels of admission.  VIP tickets (valid from 6-10pm and including a swag bag, tasting glass, food, and special VIP tastings) are on sale for $50, while general admission tickets (valid from 7-10pm and including ten tastings) retail for $30 ($40 at the door).  Designated Driver ticket options will also be available at the door for $10.

In conjunction with the Whiskey City Festival, a Whiskey City Spirit Run 5K Run/Walk has also been planned.  The race will start at the Lawrenceburg Event Center at 11am and wind through the historic Whiskey City before ending at the Lawrenceburg Clock Tower on the Ohio River Levee.

A center for whiskey production since the mid-1800s, Lawrenceburg’s history is deeply intertwined with the distilling industry.  The city was originally home to a Seagram’s distillery, which still produces spirits and is now owned and operated by MGP.
