Windows of Aurora Mobile App

Windows of Aurora is a public mural project partnership between Main Street Aurora and the Southeastern Indiana Art Guild. The 60+ murals – placed on historic buildings throughout the downtown – depict scenes that people in the early 1900s would have seen if they were looking into or out of their windows in Aurora during that time period. The art transports visitors back in time to the period when Aurora was an important steamboat stop along the Ohio River.

The Windows of Aurora mobile app is a free app from the Dearborn County Visitors Center and funded in part by a Trails Grant from the Indiana Office of Tourism Development. The app is designed to help visitors enjoy an interactive walking tour of the city's historic downtown and learn more about each piece of art at their leisure. In addition to mural images and select artist videos, information and mapping is also included for nearby attractions, shopping and dining. The Windows of Aurora Urban Arts Trail is part of the By Hoosier Hands “Canal & Rivers” Artisan Trail.
