Situated 427 feet above the Ohio River, this early-19th-century country estate is located high on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River outside of the small town of Aurora. Operated by the Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Veraestau is known for its sweeping panoramic views of the Ohio River and the countryside beyond. Visitors can tour Veraestau (a combination of the Latin words for spring, summer and fall) and its grounds on weekends starting May 21st through December 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
