Fri 10/20 - Nature Photography Exhibit at Dearborn Highlands Arts Council
9am-4pm. 331 Walnut St., Lawrenceburg IN 47025. Throughout the month of October, renowned photographer Joshua White will feature his ongoing project, " A Photographic Survey of the American Yard", in the gallery of the Arts Council. The series of plants, insects and animals highlights the biodiversity of backyards and has been featured in "Proof: National Geographic's Online Photography Journal", "Scientific American" and "Mother Nature Network".
On Friday, October 13, the Arts Council will host a Gallery Opening. From 6-8PM, anyone attending may purchase a framed or unframed photo from the collection and have Joshua sign it as well. Joshua will also be available for a Gallery Talk on Saturday, October 14, at 10AM and an afternoon workshop beginning at 1:30PM. The artist is a graduate of South Dearborn High School, Northern Kentucky University and Arizona State University.

Fri 10/20-Sat 10/21 - Southeastern Indiana Art Guild Fall Art Show
Lawrenceburg Public Library, 150 Mary Street. Members art show and sale during normal library hours. Everyone is invited to the opening reception Friday, October 13, from 2-4PM in the Stegner Train Depot. Artwork can be viewed throughout the library.

Fri 10/20-Sun 10/22 - Hillforest Victorian House Museum 
213 Fifth Street, Aurora. 1:00PM-5:00PM. Admission charged. Hillforest was the home of industrialist and financier Thomas Gaff and his family between 1855 and 1891. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1992. Featured exhibit for 2017 is Bags, Bonnets & Baubles, showcasing Hillforest's collection of ladies hats and handbags rarely on exhibit. Fri 10/20-Sun 10/22 - River Cities Bike Share  
River Cities Bike Share is the the first bike share program of its kind in Southeast Indiana and features approximately 30 “ready-to-ride” bicycles located throughout the cities of Lawrenceburg and Aurora. Equipped with a locking mechanism, the bikes will be housed at several docking sites in both communities, and can be reserved and rented via an app or onsite.  Each of the Shimano seven-speed bicycles will be available on a ride-and-return basis. The cost to ride is $3 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour.

Sat 10/21-Sun 10/22 - Lobenstein Farm Pumpkin Festival
10am-7pm. 29703 Post 464 Road, St. Leon, Indiana. Visit one of southeast Indiana's largest pumpkin festivals the first three weekends of October. Pumpkin picking, wagon rides, farm animals, corn and hay mazes, crafters and homemade food. Pick your own pumpkin from a large selection in the fields. Sun 10/22 - Veraestau Historic Site
4696 Veraestau Lane, Aurora, IN 47001. This early-19th-century country estate located outside of Aurora, is now open to the public for tours from 1-4 pm Sundays. Veraestau will remain open to the public from now through December 17, then will close for the winter before re-opening in the spring.  Tours of the site are free for members of Indiana Landmarks, $5 for non-members, or $4 per person for groups of 25 or more.  For information, contact veraestau@indianalandmarks.org, 812-926-0983.
