The Oxbow - Early Fall Migrant Shorebirds & Waders
August 25@ 6:00 pm
6PM at the Upper Oxbow parking lot off US Route 50 in Greendale, Indiana.
To avoid the heat, the August field trip has been scheduled for the evening. The focus will be birds, specifically early fall migrants. The southbound fall migration of shorebirds (sandpipers & plovers), long-legged waders (herons & egrets) and several other species, begins quite early and will be well underway. Join son and father trip leaders, Jack Stenger and Jay Stenger for a pleasant summer evening in the Oxbow.
Unusual or rare species such as Little Blue Heron and Snowy Egret may also be found. The leaders plan to see several spots in and around the Oxbow, including Lost Bridge over the Great Miami.
The trip will end around dusk (9PM). Bring sunscreen, insect repellant and water.
